Keira - Graduate from Hawthorn College of Sport

Keira’s community connection

Following the inaugural year of the Hawthorn College of Sport in 2025, graduate Keira is another incredible success story to emerge from the program, turning her passion for the sporting industry into valuable real-world experience and industry connections.

During her time at the Hawthorn College of Sport, Keira threw herself into every opportunity available to explore different facets of an elite sporting environment.

Her journey included a study trip to Tasmania, where she assisted with game day operations in a vibrant, community-focused setting.

It was an experience that also allowed her to form strong, lasting bonds with her peers.

Keira’s initiative truly shone when a guest talk from The Inclusion Project Coordinator Andre Leslie sparked her interest in the community sector.

After expressing her enthusiasm, she was approached to work alongside the team at The Inclusion Project, gaining hands-on experience in community sports delivery and playing a crucial role in removing barriers to belonging at sport events around the country.

As is the case with all students who graduate from the Hawthorn College of Sport, Keira also possesses a Dual Diploma of Sport (SIS50321) and Leadership and Management (BSB50420) from Box Hill Institute.

“My time at Hawthorn College of Sport was incredible. The classes are really practical, so I was able to learn hands-on skills that I can actually use in the industry,” Keira said.

“The teachers are supportive, willing to help and care about your journey. The opportunities offered were amazing, giving me the chance to meet great people and build connections to help me in my future career. Studying here has given me a lot of confidence and direction for my future, and I highly recommend it!”
